About

I started out as a software developer and grew into technical leadership and project management. That path gave me the full picture: I can write the code, design the architecture behind it and lead the team that ships it to production.

I specialize in Java backends with Spring Boot, microservices and system integration, particularly when a legacy system has to be modernized without stopping the business. I round that out with full-stack development, cloud platforms and cybersecurity: I am an Ethical Hacking Certified Associate (EHCA) and bring that mindset to every project.

I hold myself to high quality standards (SOLID, clean architecture, automated testing and quality gates) and keep up with new methodologies and languages. To me, leading and motivating a team matters as much as solving the technical problem.

  • Integrations & migrations

Running legacy and new systems side by side with feature flags, canonical contracts and zero-downtime switchover.

  • Backend & microservices

Java, Spring Boot and WebFlux, Go and NestJS. Well-versioned, resilient and observable REST APIs.

  • Technical leadership

Technical point of contact for project managers, engineering best practices, code review and team mentoring.

  • Security by design

Server hardening, WAF, vulnerability audits and secret scanning in the delivery pipeline.

  1. Smartjob

    Santiago, Chile

Integration Lead / Senior Backend Developer

    Nov 2025 – Present

Banco BCI · BCI Corredora de Bolsa (brokerage)

I am the technical lead for integrations in the migration from the legacy SIGA/RMI system to the Calypso platform.

    • Designed and implemented a dual SIGA/Calypso architecture using feature flags and the Router pattern, so both systems run side by side and can be switched over with zero downtime.
    • Defined contracts and conversion layers to a canonical DTO, aligning the Calypso orchestrator responses with existing contracts and avoiding cascading rewrites downstream.
    • Build microservices in Java 11 and Spring Boot with reactive programming (WebFlux / WebClient) and Gradle.
    • Standardized HTTP client configuration: per-environment TLS and truststore settings, fail-fast startup checks and environment-specific security policies.
    • Run services on Azure Kubernetes Service and consume services on OpenShift, troubleshooting with kubectl and Telepresence.
    • Manage GitHub Actions CI/CD pipelines with SonarQube quality gates, JaCoCo coverage, Checkstyle and Secret Scan.
    • Tuned timeouts, retries and parallelism (CompletableFuture) in critical integrations, and designed the JMeter load-testing plan to validate SLAs and find the breaking point.

Ethical Hacking Certified Associate (EHCA)

CertJoin Certifications LLC · November 2024

One of the most important certifications of my career. It validates my knowledge of ethical hacking and penetration testing techniques.

To me, security is not a final step but a way of building. I design every integration and every service the way an attacker would look at it, so the gaps are closed before they ever reach production.
